Rotorua based artist, Clara Lucey, has been painting since 2019. She rediscovered her love of painting after a 20 year hiatus from art. Clara studied Fashion Design in Ireland where she hails from originally. Her background in fashion has given her an understanding of colour, form & texture in her work. She paints in acrylic on canvas & wood panel & her favourite subjects to paint are predominantly birds, animals, landscapes both Irish & New Zealand. Clara also makes polymerclay jewellery with brass components. She has reignited passion for painting & crafting & hopes that her love of set will inspire her students!
