The Kererū, or New Zealand Wood Pigeon, is a native NZ bird. Fun fact- it won 'Bird of the Year' in 2018! Kererū have famously earned a reputation as the drunkest bird in New Zealand due to their habit of falling out from trees after consuming rotting fruit left lying on the ground.
