The Northern Lights are perfect for watercolour painting. This is a really hands on painting, where we create the sky with soaking wet deep blues and greens, then tip the painting up, and move it around to let the water blend the colours. We then tip the excess water off the top of the painting so we are left with a softly blended stunning sky!
This is not so much 'painted' but uses a really cool technique that will give you a great outcome, and gives the illusion of colours reflecting in the sky. The hardest part about this painting, is that once we have done the sky - it is hands off! Because if you fiddle with it, it will ruin your masterpiece. So it is a lesson in constraint. But trust us, you will be happy in the end!
