This painting of a Pūkeko is created with a wet on wet technique, wet on dry and dry brushing. When painting with wet on wet, it is the tiny details added at the end that make the painting pop! Fun fact - Pūkeko is the New Zealand name for the purple swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio).
