This is a stylised painting of the Beehive in Wellington, rendered with bright colours and lots of artistic freedom. We use short choppy brushstrokes to add texture.

The Beehive / Te Whare Mīere is the common name for the Executive Wing of New Zealand Parliament Buildings, located in Wellington. How did it earn it's name The Beehive? This is said to be due to it being reminiscent of a traditional woven form of beehive known as a "skep".
