This is a view of the Church of the Good Shepherd, which overlooks beautiful Lake Tekapō. In the background the sky is lit up by Aurora Australis - the southern lights - and the Milky Way. Uses wet on wet to get a misty looking sky, and white paint to create the Milky Way. White is not usually used in watercolour painting, because the white of the paper is usually used. But in this instance, the white paint blends into the sky to enhance the feel of a misty sky.
